In today’s world of mobile technology, social networks, pervasive satellite and sensor information and machine-to-machine transactions, data is becoming the lifeblood of many economies. Data-informed decision making is more important than ever before. However, the ability to use data in development and decision-making processes has not seen the 
same progress. Relying on data to inform decisions requires that the appropriate tools and analytical methodologies exist in order to use it effectively.

Since the Paris Agreement was adopted at COP21 in December 2015, the world has seen increased ambition on climate change. Almost every country in the world has now set national climate targets, and the Agreement has gone into force much earlier than expected. However, global climate action is still not happening at the scale or speed needed to meet the Paris goal of keeping global temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius.

Agricultural Activities Allow Refugees to Return to a Normal Life in Southern Chad

The primary objective of the engagement is the development and launch of the PSA open data portal/website to provide access to the public on all data products of PSA.
The contractor will be responsible for delivering the following:
1.Development of PSAs open data portal;
2.Curation of PSA data;
3.Development of a maiden data dashboard or visualization within the same portal;
4.Training for PSAs internal users on managing the portal; and
5.Events management for the launch of the portal.
Event Nov 9:Improving Water Pollution Reduction Using Flexible Market Tools
Market-based mechanisms for addressing environmental externalities have the potential to reduce environmental harms at lower cost and with 
greater efficiency than more traditional command-and-control approaches. However, the use of “cap and trade” mechanisms also entails overcoming a number of challenges including institutional capacity, initial allocation, and distributional equity, among others. This dicussion will focus on an innovative use of market-based mechanisms as an alternative to command-and-control regulation for controlling water pollution. Amelia Letnes from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will discuss the lessons of the U.S. experience in applying water quality trading.
