The world’s largest development finance institutions are working together on a common sets of principles for tracking climate finance. They have agreed on the first set for tracking mitigation finance. Similar principles for tracking adaptation finance and leverage are being developed this year.

WB Procurement APP update!

From reading our previous posts you will know that we are interested in tools that increase the transparency and accessibility of information concerning projects. This is why today we are introducing you to the Word Bank procurement APP which is only accessible on the iPad.

The World Bank Procurement App for IPads offers the most recent procurement data covering major contracts awarded under Bank-funded projects. Through the App, users can easily explore large amounts of complex data in a short time. Ratios, trends, supplier rankings, pie charts and bar graphs are just some of its core features. Information can be organized and sorted through a variety of filters and functions.

In essence, corporate procurement is when the World Bank procures goods, works or (consultancy) services itself, whereas in operational procurement, this is done by the borrowing country.

Roughly every quarter we have a meeting with the Corporate Procurement team to discuss any issues, problems, complaints and – every once in a while – compliments that you have raised with us. Minister Ploumen on stage at Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day

Lilianne Ploumen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, took to the stage during the Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day Concert in Washington DC. The concert took place on Saturday, April 18, 2015, during the Spring Meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group. On stage, Minister Ploumen made a new commitment to provide clean drinking water and toilets for those who currently lack access. Watch her speak to the crowd in Washington.
