eC2: Market Assessment: Concept Development for PNG Technical Training Center for Women

company Rhodes PNG, is exploring the possibility of establishing a technical training college for women in PNG. Rhodes PNG has identified a site located at their Napa Napa campus, outside of Port Moresby, and have indicated they are interested in donating that site for use as a womens technical training college. IFC is now at the stage of conducting a detailed market assessment which will feed into the development of a detailed business plan for the proposed training college (Womens TVET project).

The objective of this assignment is to conduct a landscape analysis and market study to assess the feasibility of the proposed Womens TVET Project. It will include an assessment of the industry demand for skills and commitment toward supporting improved supply of skilled workers; , the current training supply in PNG; as well as the challenges and opportunities for women to access more and better training, and ultimately to access jobs. This assignment also aims to raise awareness of the project and obtain initial buy-in from industry.

Outputs under this assignment will be use to canvass potential investors and inform a go/ no go decision prior to developing a full business plan

eC2: PNG Hospital PPP – Legal Consultant

The Government of the Papua New Guinea has requested IFC to assist the Papua New780-439-amrcapture Guinea Treasury and the Western Highlands Provincial Health Authority, to assess the potential to develop, finance, upgrade, operate and maintain the Mt Hagen Hospital under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) transaction (The Project).

The objective of the PPP is to enhance the infrastructure and operations and maintenance at Mt Hagen Hospital, to improve the delivery of health care services at the Hospital. The Project will focus on addressing the infrastructure requirements stemming from underinvestment and lack of adequate maintenance programs, and the potential to include non-clinical and some selected clinical services in the scope of the Project.

IFC is seeking the services of a qualified legal consultant to support its transaction advisory team on developing and implementing the tender for this project.

eC2:PNG Mobile Banking Assessment: Customer Level Qualitative Research

Through qualitative research, IFC aims to gain a rich understanding of the change brought forth by the introduction of mobile banking services in Papua New Guinea. The consultant will conduct a number of focus group discussions with various customer segments, and analyze the information collected to assess how this new technology might have succeeded, or failed, to expand access and usage of financial services across key segments of the population. The goal of this analysis is to complement the parallel sector wide analysis, as part of a comprehensive assessment of IFCs Mobile Banking effort in Papua New Guinea.

eC2: Assessment of National Policy on Benefit Sharing in Hydropower Projects
