In a report released March 22, 2016 in partnership with the Africa CEO Forum, IFC concludes that even in difficult economic and risk environments, methods of financing that better mitigate risk can be more widely adopted to fund successful investments on a larger scale in Africa.

Climate Friendly Transport in Developing Countries

On December 3, 2015 the World Bank published an article on the support Nigeria-Lagos-busof Multilateral Development Banks to climate friendly transport in developing countries. The first bus-based mass transport system in Lagos, Nigeria has proved to be a success.

Lagos, Nigeria, is the sixth largest city in the world. It is also the fastest growing and one of the most congested in the world. Commuting for Lagosians can be a serious challenge. Until recently, transport options to get to work were either small minibuses (the danfos) or larger minibuses (molues). Traffic was bad and transport expensive.
