The World Bank’s Water and Sanitation Program (WSP) seeks qualified firms to identify wadis for development, support the site selection for eight sites, and implement an impact assessment to improve the pastoral and agro-pastoral communities’ access to, and management of, small-scale water sources and to enhance the capacity of the government to implement small-scale water interventions in targeted arid lands of Somaliland and Puntland.
To support the respective ministries of environment in both Somaliland and Puntland WSP seeks qualified firms to undertake the following tasks:
1.Training on the identification of wadis for development
2.Supporting site selection for eight sites: a.Defining a set of parameters for specific site selection b.Carrying out pre-feasibility studies and ground truthing at selected sites c.Carrying out engineering design reviews of the designs proposed by the respective governments
3.Working with the respective ministries of environment to implement an impact assessment on the eight sites including : a.A technical and socioeconomic baseline survey for each site. Technical aspects will include monitoring hydrological, environmental and engineering aspects of the project b.Support project monitoring over the 18 month lifecycle c.A technical and socioeconomic endline survey and final report
