The World Bank Board of Directors has approved additional financing for the Senegal Stormwater Management and Climate Change Adaptation Project. The additional financing amounts to a total of $38 million, of which $35 million is provided by the World Bank.

India Bihar Kosi Basin Development Project
On August 6, the World Bank Board of Directors will be discussing the India Bihar Kosi Basin Development Project. This project is worth a total of $375 million, of which $250 million is provided by the World Bank, and $125 by the borrowing country.
Tunisia Road Transport Corridors – Update
On June 29 we reported about the Tunisia Road Transport Corridors. This project, worth a total of $231 million, has now been approved by the World Bank Board of Directors.
Morocco – Large Scale Irrigation Modernization Project
On July 8, the World Bank Board of Directors approved the Morocco Large Scale Irrigation Modernization Project, worth a total of $187.5 million, of which $150 million is provided by the World Bank.
The development objectives of the Large Scale Irrigation Modernization Project for Morocco are: (i) for the Doukkala Regional Agricultural Development Office (ORMVA), the Gharb ORMVA, the Haouz ORMVA, and the Tadla ORMVA, to provide improved water service to farmers; and (ii) for targeted farmers in the project area, to have better access to improved irrigation technologies.

East Africa Public Health Laboratory Networking Project – Additional financing
The development objective of the East Africa Public Health Laboratory Networking Project for Africa is to establish a network of efficient, high quality, accessible public health laboratories for the diagnosis and surveillance of tuberculosis and other communicable diseases.
The $50 million additional financing (AF) for Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda will assist to: (a) scale up successful activities to additional facilities in cross border areas, further expanding geographic coverage; and (b) broaden and deepen the range of interventions to be funded Continue reading
Jamaica – Improving Climate Data and Information Management Project
On July 28 the Board of Directors of the World Bank will be processing the Improving Climate Data and Information Management Project for Jamaica. This will be done on an Absence of Objection basis, with the project expected to be adopted without trouble.
The project involves a total of $7.5 million in support of the meteorological data gathering, of which $6.8 million is provided by the World Bank. The goal of the project is to improve the quality and use of climate related data and information for effective planning and action at local and national levels.

Ecuador Sustainable Family Farming Modernization Project – Update
On Tuesday, June 30 we reported about the Ecuador Sustainable Family Farming Modernization Project that would be discussed in the Board of Directors. The project is now approved.
The Project development objective is to enhance incomes of small and medium sized farm households by supporting more productive and climate-smart use for land and water.

Egypt – Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services Program-for-Results
In two weeks, the World Bank Board of Directors will be discussing the Egypt Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services project. This project, financed under Program-for-Results financing, is expected to be accepted by the Board and involves a total of $1.25 billion, of which $550 million is provided by the World Bank, $170 million is provided by the Government of Egypt, and $530 million is provided by other donors.
The objective of the Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services project is to strengthen institutions and policies for increasing access and improving rural sanitation services in the Governorates of Beheira, Dakahliya, and Sharkiya in Egypt.

The World Bank Board of Directors will discuss the Ecuador Sustainable Family Farming Modernization Project on Tuesday, July 14. The project involves a total of $128 million, of which $80 million will be provided by the World Bank.
Tunisia Road Transport Corridors Project
The World Bank’s Board of Directors will soon be discussing the proposed Tunisia Road Transport Corridors Project. This project involves a total of $231 million, of which $200 million is provided by the World Bank.
