eC2: Piloting sensor driven IOT based precision irrigation technology in Rice Wheat farming system

The firm should provide services by installing suitable equipments for:
1. measuring standing water level in rice crop using suitable sensor and to measure moisture content of soil using soil suction sensors for all crops; and subsequently to determine irrigation schedule (both timing and quantity of irrigation) using algorithms;
2. Mobile based pump control system and a decision support system to implement irrigation scheduling and monitor the pump operation remotely using mobile.
3. Monitor the groundwater levels, power consumption, pump operating hours and volume of water extracted using automatic instruments.
4. Provide cloud based application, mobile apps, training modules and videos for dissemination to the farmers.

eC2: Improving Access to Water Supply, Energy and Irrigation in Rural Areas in Bolivia

A baseline study in a statistical sample of households in communities targeted under the

‘Improving Access to Water Supply, Energy and Irrigation in Rural Areas Project’ will be Water crisis:  Child sitting on cracked earth near drying watercarried out with funding provided by a WB Technical Assistance Programme, in selected communities and municipalities in the Departments of Chuquisaca, Potosi, Cochabamba and Oruro. The baseline data will provide inputs for the Project design, including the implementation strategy in its water supply, energy and irrigation components; and the design of the community development and behavior change activities. The study will also set a baseline to monitor the project results and adjust its design and implementation if needed.

eC2:Institutional Feasibility Study for the Management of Irrigation Schemes’ Hydraulic Systems

For Steps 2, 3, and 4 (intervention zone of the World Bank-funded project): The study will cover the irrigation schemes of Northern Tunisia located in the Governorates of Siliana, Jendouba, Béja, and Bizerte. The Irrigation Schemes planned under the 2016-2020 development plan will be considered for the forecasting of the business development of the entity in charge of the selected management arrangements in the Governorates covered by the project. The study area includes the Public Irrigation Schemes benefiting from the “Irrigated Agriculture Intensification Project” proposed for funding to the World Bank and located in the Governorates mentioned above.

eC2:Household Survey – Land Husbandry, Water Harvesting and Hillside Irrigation (LWH) Project, Rwanda

The data collection should be collected electronically, using tablet computers and software such as Open Data Kit, Blaise, CSPro, or SurveyBe. The World Bank Research team will take on the task of programming the survey, but significant input will be expected from the firm in testing, and perfecting the instrument. The expected duration of the contract is from September December 2016, with the actual data collection taking place in October.

Morocco – Large Scale Irrigation Modernization Project

On July 8, the World Bank Board of Directors approved the Morocco Large Scale Irrigation Modernization Project, worth a total of $187.5 million, of which $150 million is provided by the World Bank.

The development objectives of the Large Scale Irrigation Modernization Project for Morocco are: (i) for the Doukkala Regional Agricultural Development Office (ORMVA), the Gharb ORMVA, the Haouz ORMVA, and the Tadla ORMVA, to provide improved water service to farmers; and (ii) for targeted farmers in the project area, to have better access to improved irrigation technologies.
