eConsultant2: Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of the Semeikhon Riverside Port Project in Myanmar

This greenfield project will be developed by MMID. IFC, through its proposed equity participation in this InfraVentures project, will play the role of co-developer. SMP is located India buildingalong the bank of Ayeyarwady River, around 70 km from Mandalay city in Myanmar. MMID is also the developer of Myotha Industrial Park (MIP), a greenfield 10,000 acre mixed-used Industrial Zone.The land footprint of SMP (all phases) is about 152 hectares with an expected quay length of 1,500 meters. SMP will be developed in phases as container port traffic builds up over time.

Dutch Health delivers four boats to Bangladesh

On December 2, 2015 the Minister of Disaster Management and Relief, Hon. Mofazzal DutchHealth Boats BangladeshHossain Chowdhury (Maya) Bir Bikram, MP, handed over four Search and Rescue Boats, built by Dutch Health BV, to the National Coast Guard of Bangladesh. This project was financed by the World Bank.

Climate Friendly Transport in Developing Countries

On December 3, 2015 the World Bank published an article on the support Nigeria-Lagos-busof Multilateral Development Banks to climate friendly transport in developing countries. The first bus-based mass transport system in Lagos, Nigeria has proved to be a success.

Lagos, Nigeria, is the sixth largest city in the world. It is also the fastest growing and one of the most congested in the world. Commuting for Lagosians can be a serious challenge. Until recently, transport options to get to work were either small minibuses (the danfos) or larger minibuses (molues). Traffic was bad and transport expensive.
