eC2: Consultancy Service for the Indonesia Sustainable Landscape Management Multi Donor Trust Fund (SLM MDTF) to support the operationalization of the BPDLH

The primary objective of this Consultancy is to provide advisory, capacity, and technical assistance to support the operationalization of the BPDLH through strategic, operational and technical inputs to build strong institutional frameworks that allow the BPDLH to receive and disburse domestic and international green finance in an effective and impactful way. This will include support in developing a strong institutional framework and governance system, set of policies, procedures and instruments that will enable BPDLH to effectively operationalize its mandates. The firm will also need to support BPDLH in the development of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies and assist in the design and operationalization of a monitoring and evaluation strategy. The support should also look to assist the Steering Committee of BPDLH to be able to play strategic tole to support the operationalization of the BPDLH, including define its role in the governance system of BPDLH.

How Can We Increase Women’s Participation in Infrastructure Projects?

On construction sites, it is more common to see men working than women. With the aim Clara1of improving the gender balance in construction, the World Bank is implementing gender strategies in urban transport projects in Colombia. These have  led to the increased participation of women in infrastructure projects.

Gender discrimination not only has a negative impact on women’s income; it also impedes companies and society from making use of the special skills that women contribute to the economy. The implementation of a gender equality strategy in the Bucaramanga Integrated Mass Transport System– Metrolínea – revealed the advantages of including women in this type of project and provided lessons that could be shared with other systems, sectors and projects.

The firm should be based in Jakarta and deliver specific communications products in close coordination with the World Banks ENB communications team. The broad scope of work includes developing a range of high quality and tailored communication products and services to support the teams sustainable landscape and oceans agenda. The objective of the consultancy is to assess market opportunities and challenges for the adoption of efficient electric cooking in Myanmar. The activity will take stock of the inventory of electric cooking appliances in Myanmar and Southeast Asia for grid and off-grid technologies taking into consideration the customer profile, willingness to pay and local cooking characteristics and assess challenges and opportunities for market development. The assignment will include the assessment of policy and regulatory environment for efficient electric cooking development, demand and supply side analysis, and recommend an inventory of efficient cooking appliances suitable for grid and mini-grid in Myanmar and business models to meet local demand.
