Bangladesh has recently been selected as one of the 14 new countries for the Scaling up Renewable Energy Program in Low Income Countries (SREP) under the Climate Investment Funds. The objective of the SREP is to pilot and demonstrate the economic, social and environmental viability of development pathways in the energy sector by creating new economic opportunities and increasing energy access through the use of renewable energy.

Dairy Supply Chain Development – Pakistan
International Finance Corporation (IFC) has allocated funding to carry out the consulting assignment to support IFCs project in Punjab Province, Pakistan with the following objectives: Provide support to a selected group of medium size dairy farmers in improving their technical skills, and increase milk productivity levels in terms of quantity per milking animal, and quality of milk produced.
IFC is interested in hiring an international consulting firm, with global expertise in the dairy sector. More specifically, the selected firm should enjoy long standing experience in the area of developing technical content, financial models for dairy farming, and also in conducting farmers support, and training activities in developing countries. This will include group training event, and one-on-one specific engagements, and advice.

Flood Forecasting – India
The World Bank Group is looking for a firm to assist in the development of Flood Forecasting for the Ganges and the Brahmaputra Basins using satellite based precipitation, ensemble weather forecasts, and remotely-sensed river widths and height.
The firm is assigned to implement long-lead time, public-access flood forecasting systems for the Ganges and Brahmaputra basins spanning India, Bangladesh and Nepal utilizing new satellite precipitation estimates and ensemble weather forecasts from multiple centers.
Water Quality Testing – Nigeria
The majority of Port Harcourt residents rely on provision from private boreholes and shallow wells. The water quality from boreholes and shallow wells is not regulated.
The Water and Sanitation Program (WSP) supported in 2013/2014 a Water Quality Testing Study. The water quality data collected were from a structured sample of the full range of water sources used in the city: privately constructed boreholes and shallow wells utility sources, utility water received by customers and vended water.
Fake Seeds Study – Kenya
One of the objectives of the Kenya Agribusiness IC Program is to support the enactment of competitive seed regulations in Kenya in order to unlock private sector led growth of the seed sector. The prevalence of fake seeds has negative consequences on competition in the industry as genuine seed proprietors shy away from the market, and farmers are disillusioned by the low value to their farming operation of the use of improved seed. It is therefore critical to assess the extent of faking of seeds in Kenya in order to be able to design effective interventions to reduce or completely eliminate fake seeds.
Renewable Energy Strategy Botswana
The Government of Botswana has requested the World Bank for technical assistance to develop a renewable energy strategy for Botswana. In response, the World Bank (Client) intends to apply part of the proceeds of a grant from the Africa Renewable Energy Access (AFREA) program to engage the services of a consultant (Consultant) to develop a comprehensive renewable energy strategy for Botswana, with an emphasis on solar energy.

Water Security & Services Consultant – Brazil
The World Bank is looking for a consultant to perform a study to improve water security and services in the Brazilian state of Paraíba. The study will support the State of Paraíba in preparing a strategic action plan to improve water security and access to water services. This will include development of an investment plan and recommendations for state policies, instruments and management models with regard to water resources management, water services regulation and provision in order to support sustainable, resilient and inclusive development.
Consultant Water Supply System – Liberia
With the support of WSP / WB, the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) intends to carry out the Design Review for the rehabilitation of Monrovias water supply system (Phase 1) and feasibility Study for water supply and sanitation improvements for the cities of Harbel, Gbarnga and Ganta Consultancy (Phase 2).
This assignment has a double objective: (i) provide a rapid design review of the Monrovia water and sewer distribution system and propose an urgent rehabilitation plan taking into consideration the reduction of non-revenue water in the system (phase 1) and (ii) assess the feasibility of the water supply and sanitation infrastructure improvements for the secondary cities of Harpel, Gbarnga, and Ganta (phase 2)

Waste to Energy Consultant – Bangladesh
IFC is looking forward to hire one firm/institution for Short Term Consultant (STC) work to support the establishment of the Green Energy Knowledge Hub in Bangladesh.
This Knowledge Hub will serve as the anchor to provide information to the industry on the latest developments, support in operation of existing plants and help in putting up new plants. The Knowledge Hub will also offer space for interested vendors to display their products/ technology.
