The objective is to enhance the capacity of key sector stakeholders BiH in SWM, throughsolid waste the following activities: (i) Develop and deliver a comprehensive capacity building program that targets the entire vertical chain of stakeholders; (ii) provide technical assistance to FMET in the Federation, MPPCE in RS, Brcko District, MOFTER at the BiH level; (iii) organize study tours to well operated landfills, waste collection companies, MRF in the EU and BiH; (iv) facilitate FIDIC trainings at a specialized training facility.

Connecting Climate Change and Health for Better Development

Low- and middle-income countries are seeing the worst effects as they are most vulnerable to climate shifts and least able to adapt given weak health systems and poor infrastructure. The good news is that the cumulative impacts of climate change on health have been extensively discussed for decades and understanding is growing.

An estimated 1.1 billion people worldwide cannot officially prove their identity, accordingid4d-global-dataset to the 2017 update of the World Bank’s Identification for Development (ID4D) Global Dataset.

Identification matters

How do we prove who we are to the people and institutions with whom we interact? Imagine trying to open your first bank account, prove your eligibility for health insurance, or apply for university without an ID; quality of life and opportunities become severely restricted.  An officially-recognized form of ID is the key enabler – critical not only for exercising a wide range of rights but also for accessing healthcare, education, finance, and other essential services. According to the World Bank Group’s latest estimates, this is problematic for an estimated 1.1 billion people around the globe.

eC2:Sustainable Community Engagement for Public Private Partnerships

The objective of these terms of reference is to formulate a model community engagement framework for local government (LGA) PPP in Tanzania, provide provisions for the Model LGA PPP Agreement ( PPPA) to implement this model framework and provide a module for the draft LGA PPP operating guidelines for the practical application of community engagement and in particular this framework to PPP projects in Tanzania. The framework will be based on global best practices adopted in community engaged PPPs and will embody the lessons learned from different country engagements (both successful and failed), for example the World Banks citizen engagement for smart cities program and IFC’s stakeholder engagement: a good practice handbook for doing business in emerging markets.
