The specific objectives of the MBA are to:
Organize and strengthen cooperation between the riparian countries as well as between these countries and all development partners interested and concerned with sustainable water resources management in the Mono Basin;
Harmonize national water resources management policies through the adoption and implementation of an integrated approach for management of the basins water resources ;
Mobilize human, technical and financial resources for the implementation of studies, research and works for the use of water resources for economic, social and environmental development of the Mono Basin;
These specific objectives are the medium and long-term intervention framework developed by member states and should be considered interrelated. A Strategic Action Plan for 2016 2020, aimed at translating these objectives into activities and supporting the development of a sustainable funding mechanism for the MBA, is under formulation.

The Dutch (RVO) funded Colombia palm oil project is gaining speed and the team has now published a call for expressions of interest. Given the RVO funding the IFC would very much welcome Dutch consultants.
The aim of this assessment is to identify and examine the factors affecting the performance of Colombian palm oil-based products in the international market, and analyze the gap between the current and possible future conditions in the Colombian industry.
PPIAF aims to fund more innovative ideas like this one, and its new call for proposals!

World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim signals that those working on environmental projects are about to enjoy their moment in the sun.
His annoucement about a major increase in the Bank Group’s financing to help countries combat climate change by building low carbon and resilient development is likely to boost support for projects related to renewable energy and energy efficiency, climate-smart transport solutions, resilient cities, the restoration of degraded forests and landscapes, enhanced water security, and agricultural practices.

After severe flooding at the beginning 
of the year (January 2015), the Government of Madagascar requested support from the World Bank to address its water issues in Antananarivo. A scoping mission in March 2015 led to a recommended approach of integrated urban water management (IUWM) that can bring together the different agencies and stakeholders that play a role in different aspects of water management. This assignment will provide a rapid institutional assessment of the key entities involved in water management in Antananarivo and will form the basis for developing an IUWM planning process.
