IFC is procuring a Consulting Firm to organize and deliver one two-day capacity building Ethiopia agtraining workshop for up to 15 participants about the Standard of Good Agricultural Practice, GLOBALG.A.P. Version 5 for fruit and vegetables in Moldova. The workshop will cover GLOBALG.A.P. General regulations, All farm base, Farm management (soil, water and inputs), Documentation, and Staff Training modules and will be conducted with use of case studies to facilitate the learning. The content of the workshop should reflect the needs of local market participants, which have limited knowledge and experience in GLOBALG.A.P.

eConsultant2: Texting for Nutrition: Impact evaluation

The Texting for Nutrition is an innovative intervention that uses mobile technology to Rajasthandisseminate tailored messages to promote good nutrition practices among parents in rural and urban mostly poor households in Chimborazo, Ecuador. Caregivers of children between the ages of 0-3 registered for the program in the last quarter of 2014. Throughout 2015, registered caregivers received text messages sharing new information and encouraging behavior change along several key areas.

The Texting for Nutrition project is currently on-going and set to conclude in March 2016. The impact evaluation will estimate the effects of the Texting for Nutrition program on (i) knowledge of good health and nutrition practices, (ii) influencing parental behavior (iii) social customs & descriptive norms towards health/nutrition practices for their children and (iv) the nutritional status of the children.

2. Assign a team of Retail Market Developers who will:

  • Work very closely with IFC Business Development Consultant to execute point 1 across the targeted regions in Nigeria, and develop a comprehensive database of retailers, sub-distributors and wholesalers and identify new market segments.
  • Work with the IFC Business Development Consultant to develop and undertake continuous monitoring of the channels and recommend any improvements to enhance their performance.

eConsultant2: Scaling Up Rural Sanitation Campaign in India

The objective of this assignment is to engage a firm to extend technical support to Jharkhand state in scaling up rural sanitation for a period of two years, with a provision to_DSC8237 extend services if required.

The Technical Service Unit (TSU) will provide technical assistance to SBM rural program, including strengthening institutional capacity in areas like knowledge management, behavioral change communication , action learning, solid and liquid waste management options, program delivery, monitoring and verification systems and any other areas of demand as expressed by the state. It will work closely with the nodal department of SBM in the state, coordinate with district level functionaries and other stakeholders in the state and build and maintain strong partnerships with existing World Bank projects and other development partners that work at scale.

a) Review of the adequacy of existing arrangements for geothermal development with particular focus on the following key areas: ………

b) Development of specific objectives on geothermal development, deliverable targets, and plans including actions that adequately address the challenges in (a) above.

c) Prepare the Geothermal Strategy document for MoEP, including implementation plan.

d) Present the results in a workshop of stakeholders, potentially including investors conference.

“The alley was so narrow that only one motorbike could get in,” she said. “There was no drainage so it was often flooded, making garbage float and mosquitos breed. It was unsafe for our health. There were few streetlights, allowing criminals to hide in dark corners. Running my business is much easier because the street is cleaner and safer. Trucks can carry goods to my door. More shops and restaurants are opening along this big street.”

For Esperanza Choquehuanca, it means participating in community-driven development that brought running water, paved roads, street lighting, sports areas and a community house to her neighborhood on the outskirts of La Paz, Bolivia.
