WASHINGTON, July 14, 2016 — The World Bank Group (WBG) has rolled out a new six-year program for its engagement in Lebanon, underlining the need to support the country as it grapples with a myriad of political and socio-economic hardships largely linked to regional turmoil. The strategy broadly aims to recalibrate confidence of citizens in the state that has been deeply shaken by political instability, inadequate public services, shrinking economic opportunities and fallouts of the conflict in Syria.

The Government of Guinea-Bissau (GoGB)s Strategy Document flags the enormous needs for infrastructure investments that the country is facing and confirms the importance of PPP to advance specific projects and overall economic growth. In this context, the GoGB requested technical assistance from WBG to foster the agenda of PPPs in the country. To assist in the execution of this mandate, the WBG requires the services of a consulting firm with a good understanding of PPP development challenges in developing countries, to perform activities under the second pillar including (i) Assistance to the Administração dos Portos da Guiné-Bissau to take stock of the existing social context at the port of Bissau in view of a possible PPP transaction; (ii) Review of existing project pipelines and pre-feasibility study of the first two priority projects identified (iii) Capacity building program.

eC2: Data Entry for Impact Evaluation Household/Youth Census in Targeted Communities in Honduras

The World Bank Group is seeking a firm to carry out data entry for a household/youth census in select communities in Honduras. Data collection is expected to take 5 weeks, with 256 census being collected per day. The census will be administered in communities in three municipalities with an estimated total of 5,000 households. The population eligible to complete the full census will be youths aged 15-25, and there are an estimated 4,790 eligible youths in the target communities. The length of the census instrument will depend on the number of eligible youths in each household. There will be multiple versions of the census. The firm will be expected to deliver a daily random sample of data collected and to deliver the full dataset within three weeks of data collection.
