The Government of Mozambique (GoM) together with Electricidad de Mozambique (EdM)
have a variety of power generation projects to drive its power sector development and take advantage of trading opportunities arising in the region. The GoM recognizes that its challenge is to maximize the net benefits to the country from power generation development by:
a. Maximizing revenue inflows over time from export projects while still attracting high quality developers;
b. Ensuring that domestic energy needs are effectively met; and
c. Minimizing the risks and costs of power generation projects by effective selection, prioritization, contracting, management, and enforcement.
provide support to specific microfinance projects in Morocco. This program is composed by AS projects with leading MFIs, but also actions at the sectorial level. The STC will primarily work on, but not be limited to, assisting the IFC team to perform product review assessments in leading IMFs and to organize events for the microfinance sector.
report on the CSP technology, market and industry, covering all segments (and not just the large-scale plants), updating previous studies dating back to 2013 to reflect recent market developments, policy changes and climate change mitigation commitments following COP21 trends briefly discussed in the background section. It will thus guide the work of the whole CTF MENA CSP TA, helping to focus on activities that are the most likely to have an impact on the ground.
