Stage I: Diagnostic Analysis: In stage I the advisory services will support EVN in: (a) reviewing and updating its corporate vision and mission statements; (b) analyzing recent business trends and the impacts on EVNs financial performance of its operating environment (including legal and regulatory framework), internal resources, and core competencies; (c) clarifying and documenting long-term strategic goals. Upon completion of these three tasks a First Senior Management retreat (senior EVN executives and Board of Management) will be held to debate and confirm corporate agreement to the proposed long term strategic objectives. In Stage II: Preparation of Corporate Strategy and Implementation Plan, the management consultant will help EVN to prepare detailed action plans for: (a) the achievement of EVNs long-term corporate goals; and (b)implementation and monitoring of the strategy, including the linkage of the strategy to EVN’s corporate and annual budgeting process.

The project to which this consultancy is linked to aims to strengthen the capacity of sub-national governments in Piaui, Brazil, particularly the State Coordination for Women Policies (CEPM) and the newly created municipal Organizations of Policies for Women (OPMs), to design, implement and evaluate policies aimed at (i) increasing women empowerment and agency and (ii) preventing violence against women. In order to achieve those objectives, the project is divided into three main components: (i) Development of a toolkit of evidence-based policies to prevent violence against women; (ii) Capacity building activities; and (iii) Dissemination.

The chosen consultant (or consortium of consultants) must have suitable experience with the technology (e.g. storage technology, global industry standards), markets (industry leading technology suppliers, market trends) and tendering processes (e.g. development of bid documents, management of competitive tenders, and understanding of bankability requirements). They should also have a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to non-technical audience. People with prior experience of working in reputed national and/or international energy storage companies, especially on implementation of grid-connected energy storage solutions, would be given preference. The team with domestic/regional experience to spend significant time in field, backed by team with international experience in energy storage firms for quality assurance and as an advisory panel. Any changes to the proposed team members during actual execution of the assignment shall not be permitted (barring exceptional circumstances if justifiable). eC2: Cumulative Impact Assessment and Management in the Trishuli River Basin

The Project aims to facilitate collaborative assessment, monitoring and management of cumulative impacts via the participatory development and implementation of a Trishuli Basin Co-Management Platform (TCMP). The TCMP would be led by a team comprising the IFC, private sector HPP developers and the Government of Nepal – in permanent consultation with potentially affected communities, CSOs, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders. The TCMP is expected to significantly enhance governance in the Trishuli Basin and make planning and development of future HPPs and associated infrastructure more sustainable, efficient and transparent. The TCMP will support the mitigation of potential cumulative environmental and social impacts resulting from multiple or successive developments.

The general objective of the assignment consists of establishing a term funding platform through capital markets for the renewable energy industry to provide an additional source of funds that would be comparatively inexpensive and could reduce the weighted average cost of capital for a given renewable energy project or portfolio, at the same time that the diversification of innovative financial products is increased, with advantageous cost, such Green Bonds and Asset Backed Securitization, to fund its operations over the mid- to long-term, aiming to attract a broader range of investors to the renewable energy market. As a first step, the main task consists of a detailed feasibility study to assess the viability of securitizing the underlying cash flows or power purchase agreement (PPA), of a given renewable energy portfolio of projects.

As part of the assignment, the Consultant will focus on (i) working with firms to develop a strategy to enter markets with a brand that is positioned to sell its products to mainstream consumers in everyday categories; (ii) educate firms on how to do business with sophisticated buyers; and (iii) facilitate transaction sales in the identified markets.
