The objective of this analytical work is to assess the positive and negative impacts of increasing OHS standards. Tasks are expected to include:
1. Economic analysis of the direct and indirect costs associated with accidents in the workplace and occupational diseases. The costs associate4d with workplace accidents and illness must be balanced against the expenses associated with improving OHS standards. The analysis would provide two outputs: an estimate of the cost to Ethiopia of the current level of fatal and serious injury accidents, and an indication of optimal levels of OHS expenditure.
2. Assessment of the consequences of a do-nothing scenario in which no additional actions are taken to strengthen OHS.
3. Estimation of the costs and benefits of alternative institutional structures to administer OHS.
4. Consultation with private investors to determine the potential impacts of enforcing compliance with recognized international OHS standards.

The objective of this assignment is to help pave the way – and to contribute to preparing an enabling environment on the ground – for the PRESEMEH through a report that will provide a technical foundation to contribute to enhancing the awareness and understanding on energy consumption and energy efficiency in schools of relevant officials and staff from the public education sector, as well as other relevant stakeholders. The assignment will also be expected to inform other capacity building activities carried out by SENER under the PRESEMEH, and generally provide greater/deeper insights on the energy consumption and energy efficiency potential opportunities in public schools. The assignment will complement the more macro/aggregated picture available on energy in schools by focusing on a specific large public secondary school to generate concrete data and examples to help train education and school staff.

The World Bank seeks to contract a consultancy firm to develop a training manual for the Government Performance Management System in Bangladesh. The training manual will be in Bangla and English. Also an e-learning platform will be developed to complement the training manual. It is desired that the interested firms have experience of working with the Government Performance Management System and development of the training systems to be used both for face to face training as well as self-administered online/ virtual training. The assignment requires for interested firms to have team members with experience in the development of training materials for the government and e-learning modules. A strong network in Bangladesh, and partnership with public sector institutions in developing the training systems would be advantageous for the qualified firms. The firms should have the capacity to identify national experts with profound understanding of the Government Performance Management System as well as the public administration system in Bangladesh.

The objective of this analytical work is to assist government to identify processes and procedures to effectively regulate health and safety on construction sites and in other selected high risk sectors. Tasks are expected to include the review of the institutional roles and responsibilities and assess the impacts of the current OHS situation. The results of the assessment will be used to prepare by a coordinated programme of actions on: i) institutional roles and responsibilities; ii) data collection and reporting, and iii) building capacity of the public and private sectors. The consultant will be required to support the implementation of priority tasks.

(i)S&T19: The 2019 report will focus on providing an updated overview of existing and indexemerging carbon pricing initiatives around the world including national, sub-national and corporate activities, emissions trading systems, carbon taxes, and crediting mechanisms Building on the efforts made in 2018, it will include a discussion on the carbon pricing trends. It will also address the feedback received last year and focus on developing clearer lessons learned from the various carbon pricing initiatives and from various publications (including WBG ones), improved infographics featuring key facts and numbers. In addition, it will feature a section on the various ways to price carbon, including through implicit and negative carbon pricing policies. Finally, the report will continue to complete the online dashboard that was launched in 2017, and which allows for direct access to this data and more regular updates. This report is expected to have approximately about 50 pages.

The objective of this consultancy is to design and implement a capacity building programport_barton_palawan2 for community forestry that will benefit the implementation of the ASL projects in Brazil, Peru and Colombia. The process should involve a comprehensive study tour that will provide an opportunity for the participants to learn from successful cases and receive technical knowledge. Considering similarities with the conditions of the ASL projects, it is suggested that the study tour considers learning from the community management experiences In the Guatemala Maya Biosphere Reserve. Due to previous engagement in forest community, working with the Association of Forest Communities of Peten (ACOFOP) and the NGO PRIMSA would be required.
The capacity building program should also encourage the establishment of a community of learners among the beneficiaries, offering them with tools to become trainers of peers in their own countries and within their projects. The program shall also result in a set of guidelines to allow scaling up for other participants, exchanges and topics.
