The IEA estimates that about 40% of the worlds unelectrified population can best be solar-energysupplied with electricity through the creation of mini-grids. The projects objective is to develop and disseminate practical and timely information targeted for government officials, developers, investors and donors who wish to promote mini-grids, powered largely from renewable or hybrid generation sources, to scale-up electrification. The projects underlying goal is to provide information that will help to create connected or isolated mini-grids that are commercially sustainable.

The Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data on Monday, July 18, abcde-2016-300_0announced a new multi-million dollar funding initiative to support collaborative data innovations for sustainable development.

As part of the Collaborative Data Innovations for Sustainable Development Pilot Funding, which is supported by the World Bank’s Trust Fund for Statistical Capacity Building (TFSCB), the Global Partnership is now seeking innovative proposals for data production, dissemination and use, primarily in low­-income and lower­-middle-­income countries, for sustainable development generally and linked to the Sustainable Development Goals in particular.

eConsultant2: Energy Access Household Survey in Liberia

The World Bank-ESMAP team is launching the first Global Energy Access Household AfricaSurveys in access deficit countries to set a baseline to track progress towards Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) goal and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 7 on access to affordable, reliable and sustainable modern energy by 2030.

A reputed firm with extensive experience in household surveys is sought to conduct the baseline survey on energy access and forecast of electricity demand in Liberia using the multi-tier framework approach to track progress towards SDG7 and SE4ALL goal. The survey will be nationally representative and administered to both urban and rural localities. The firm will work with the World Bank-ESMAP to pre-test, finalize and implement the survey. Data collection should be carefully monitored to ensure high quality information. After completing the fieldwork, the firm will deliver the final dataset and summary report to the World Bank-ESMAP. Additional details on the scope of work will be available in the Terms of Reference (TOR).
