The objective of the consultancy service is to establish safeguard framework documents; an Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) and Resettlement Framework Policy (RPF) for facilitating the development of small hydro (<20MW) in Madagascar as part of a technical assistance project being implemented by World Bank in Madagascar which aims at supporting the development of small hydro IPPs with private sector. It is being undertaken in close coordination with JIRAMA, ORE and ADER, Government of Madagascar, the World Banks primary Client country counterpart for this project. The project is funded by the AFREA under the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), a global knowledge and technical assistance program administered by the World Bank and supported by 11 bilateral donors.

eC2: Myanmar – National Multi-Tier framework Energy Access Household Energy Survey

A reputed firm with extensive experience in household surveys and, preferably, expertise on energy sector including on-grid and off-grid solutions including mini-grid is sought to conduct the household, community/facility, and mini-grid operator survey to establish the baseline on energy access in the Myanmar using the multi-tier framework approach to track progress towards SDG7 and SE4ALL goal. The survey will be nationally representative and administered to both urban and rural localities. The firm will work with the World Bank-ESMAP to pre-test, finalize and implement the survey. Data collection should be carefully monitored to ensure high quality information. After completing the fieldwork, the firm will deliver the final dataset and summary report to the World Bank-ESMAP. eC2: Lighting Africa – Market Research on Off-grid Lighting in Tanzania

Lighting Africa is a joint World Bank/IFC program launched in 2007 to accelerate the solar-energydevelopment of markets for modern off grid lighting and energy products in Africa where majority of the population use expensive, hazardous and low quality fuel- based lighting products. The program was piloted in Kenya and Ghana but has now been replicated in 10 countries across Africa (including Tanzania) and Asia.

Tanzania has continued to face grid expansion challenges with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals estimating 40% of the countries total population and only 10% of rural households have access to electricity.

The program is seeking a market research firm to assess the development of the solar off-grid lighting market in Tanzania covering but not limited to: the supply chain (retailers) carrying the products; their penetration in the rural market; estimated market share of quality verified products; an overview of the after sales service structure; and innovative business models e.g. Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGo) etc. that are in the market.

The IFC Indonesia Agriculture Insurance project objective is to contribute to increased _DSC8598investments in agriculture and rural communities by introducing insurance solutions to reduce the risks faced by farmers and lenders/businesses working with farmers due to adverse weather events/risks related to climate change (drought/flood/hurricane, etc.).

IFC invites proposals from qualified consultants/firms to conduct Value Chain Mapping of Agriculture commodities in Indonesia, with the objective of identifying promising Agriculture (index) insurance opportunities at different points along the value chain of at least 3 to 4 Agriculture commodities for this project.

The mapping is to provide a clear picture on: 1) Key agriculture commodities to target; 2) Market size/potential – number of farmers & premium volume; and 3) Distribution partners (Agribusinesses, banks, farmers organizations).
