IFC works with the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan (the Ministry) on developing the enabling environment for investment in energy and social infrastructure, particularly renewable energy projects. The Ministry of Energy has prepared a liswatert of 64 potential sites for new small hydro power development. The list includes very basic information on each site made from a visual inspection by the ministry team. The Ministry has asked IFC to filter these 64 sites based on potential viability to attract private investment as well as potential impact for social (grant-funded) projects.

Doing Business presents quantitative indicators on business regulations and the protection of property rights that can be compared across 189 economies—from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe—and over time.

When was it published? Tuesday October 27th, 2015

How ? Data in Doing Business 2016 are current as of June 1, 2015. The indicators are used to analyze economic outcomes and identify what reforms of business regulation have worked, where and why. This year’s Doing Business report continues a two-year process of introducing improvements in 8 of 10 Doing Business indicator sets—to complement the emphasis on the efficiency of regulation with a greater focus on its quality.

The purpose of the study is to assess the Hospitalnature of private health markets and identify private sector players and opportunities in Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines. In addition to a detailed analysis of private health markets, the study also includes a mapping of the main private sector players, including hospitals, diagnostics, primary care providers, medical technology and equipment, pharmaceuticals and long-term elderly care.

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the IFC have recently established a research platform to support private sector analysis in developing economies in East Asia and the Pacific. DFAT and IFC recognize the need to better understand the role of the private health markets in East Asia and to identify opportunities to support private sector projects that deliver developmental impact and reach low-income segments.

eConsultant2: Framework Agreement for PPP Rapid Support Assessments

PPIAF has supported the delivery of rapid needs assessments (RNA) for PPP enabling environments since 2011. The rapid support framework (RSF) expands on the support offered under the RNA activities and seeks to respond to increasing client government requests for just-in-time support and technical advice on PPP programs.

The objective of the Consulting Assignment is to assist client governments in developing and implementing their PPP programs. The assignment may include some or all of the following assistance for selected countries: i) conducting a rapid diagnostic of the PPP enabling environments to identify gaps impeding the development of PPP programs; ii) developing and prioritizing a PPP project pipeline; and iii) developing a business case for 1-2 pilot project(s).
