3 Set out clear terminology and main types of measures for FRMP2 in Romania
4 Set out a clear overall integrated framework for the appraisal methodologies which then involves developing a clear practical methodology for each of the following steps:
Step 1:Identify, screen and scope possible eligible measures at catchment level
Step 2:Prioritise this long list of possible measures using a Multi-criteria analysis of their impacts (positive & negative) and their costs to rank them and define a short list of measures for which funds could be sought Step 3.Carry out Cost Benefit Analyses of this short list of measures to be able to justify them & secure funding

Existing railway track from Karachi to Hyderabad is an important corridor for freight and passenger movement between Karachi and inland Provinces. The freight exchange has vital significance for the economic development of Pakistan. Existing railway alignment between Karachi to Hyderabad is facing problem of congestion, over stressed track structure and outdated signaling and telecommunication system. Upgrading or constructing a new double line link is therefore required to resolve these issues.

The objectives of the study is to conduct and technical and commercial feasibility study for Karachi-Hyderabad ( passenger and freight line) and Karachi-Pipri (dedicated freight corridor).

It’s time to start solving Latin America’s migration crisis with creative housing solutions

The world’s largest migration crisis today may no longer be in the Middle East or Africa, ninha_-_by_greta_granados_de_orbegoso_world_bank_herobut in Latin America , where 4.8 million people have already fled Venezuela’s political and economic crisis to seek better lives, mainly in Colombia; but also in Peru, Chile, the U.S., and even Spain.

Surveys have indicated that over half of Venezuela’s young professionals wish to leave, and departures could reach 20% of the total population by the end of 2020. Yet, this crisis remains alarmingly underfunded by the international community, which is spending a mere $300 per capita to help Venezuelans compared to $5,000 per Syrian refugee. To be sure, these Venezuelan migrants are not fleeing armed conflict, but they are facing deadly living conditions.

eC2: Improving access to sustainable water and sanitation services in rural areas of Punjab.

The World Bank is assisting the government of Punjab in improving access to sustainable water and sanitation services in rural areas. The project will provide water and sanitation infrastructure as well as a range of behavior change interventions at the household and community levels. Assessment will be for 28-30 selected villages across project tehsil. Study villages will be provided to the firm. Study villages will be provided to the firm. Key areas of work of this assignment are:
1. Assess ground water availability and quality for domestic use, from a technical, cost effectiveness and resource sustainability perspective.
2. Examine shallow aquifer characteristics on canal banks to determine the reliability of canal water as a source of ground water recharge for water supply provision.
3. Advise on the minimum distance between adjacent tube wells on canal bank (for the pre-identified canals) and optimum rate of abstraction for resource sustainability.
4. Conduct a shallow groundwater salinity assessment
5. Conduct Water Quality testing
6. Feasibility study report capturing the various scenarios and technological options, and the preliminary cost estimates;
7. Preliminary designs of all the technological options for the selected villages detailing the technical requirements, and financial and economic analyses.
