Newsletter March 2018: Creating a Better World

untitledWe are excited to bring you the first 2018 edition of the NL4WorldBank newsletter, Creating a Better World which was published the on the 14th of March.

In this edition we feature a ” meet and greet “ with Sophie Peeters who works for the Blockchain Lab at World Bank Group. The Lab will be prominent in future articles and newsletters because we will be highlighting innovation which entails Blockchain, AI and Cyber Security.

Next week the Land & Poverty event will be kicking off which has prominent Dutch representation, please let us know if you will be attending. Another interesting event taking place at a later date is the Water and Sanitation Mission in June. This mission gives Dutch companies the opportunity to get to know everything the World Bank and other IFI’s are working on in water.

Recap of the Annual Meetings 2017

The Annual Meetings 2017 organized by the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have come to an end. Last week, more than 13.000 people from 180 different countries, including their Board of Governs, spoke about different topics varied from agriculture, to human capital, infrastructure and economic growth. Participate seminars of the Annual Meetings 2017 through WorldBank Live

Official opening of the Annual Meetings 2017

Today, the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will officially be opened by the president of the World Bank Group: Jim Yong Kim.  Furthermore there will be held some more interesting events for 10/12/2017. Annual Meetings 2017: join the World Bank Live!

Next week, the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) take place from upcoming October 10 to October 14  in Washington DC. During this meetings the Board of Governs of the attentive organizations will debate in the field of topics associated with poverty reduction, international economic development and finance.

In order to make these meetings accessible for the wide audience, World bank Live will daily stream several events in different languages such as English, Spanish, French and Arabic.  The subjects of the Flagship events of the Annual Meetings vary from Human Capital Summit to digital economy and education. If you are interested within accompany the dialogues through the broadcast of Worldbank live, check out the whole program here and join the World Bank’s Live online event. Vietnam, World Bank and the Netherlands to cooperate on food safety

Attached a picture of Ousmane Dione and Nathan together with the Prime Ministers Phuc of Vietnam and Rutte of the Netherlands this Monday at the Catshuis (local equivalent of the White House) in The Hague, signing a trilateral MoU regarding collaboration on food safety. A spin-off under the WBG-NL Food for All Partnership. Great work by the Country Office and the Dutch Embassy Hanoi.

MIGA contributes to the World Bank Group’s goals of ending extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity by facilitating private investment into developing member countries and supporting projects that bring broad developmental impact. MIGA-supported investments help bring jobs, innovation, technology, and skills transfer.
