Nearly 1.1 billion people escaped extreme poverty between 1990 and 2015, thanks to 
broad-based economic growth and inclusive approaches to development. But progress is stalling, and we face an urgent challenge; today, one in 10 people still live in extreme poverty.
Each Fall, the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary 
Fund (IMF) hold Annual Meetings to discuss a range of issues related to poverty reduction, international economic development and finance. This year’s events will take place in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, October 8-14, 2018. Start planning your #WBGMeetings experience.
