eC2: Scaling Solar Madagascar: Resource Management

The Scaling Solar program (see http://www.scalingsolar.org) aims to accelerate the roll-out of scaling+solar+main+bannercompetitively priced, utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power in Sub-Saharan Africa through a coordinated, packaged and largely standardised joint World Bank Group (World Bank, IFC, and MIGA) solution based on a templated Public Private Partnership (PPP) transaction. To date, three countries have signed up to the program and more countries are expected to follow shortly. In relation to Scaling Solar Madagascar, IFC intends to hire a firm to provide reliable on-site measured solar resource data for a site in Madagascar for a period of 1 year. The firm is to install, manage and maintain a solar resource measurement station at the site in order to provide bankable solar resource data.

eConsultant2: Technical Consultant for PV Project in Madagascar

The Government of Madagascar has requested the assistance of the International Finance evd__8324Corporation (IFC) to act as lead advisor for the selection of independent private producers (IPPs) to develop a total capacity of 40 MW of solar power, across several sites. IFC will provide transaction advisory services for the structuring of the transaction and the selection of suitable private investors, through a competitive bidding process.

eConsultant2: assessment of Urban Water Management of Greater Antananarivo

After severe flooding at the beginning waste water treamentof the year (January 2015), the Government of Madagascar requested support from the World Bank to address its water issues in Antananarivo. A scoping mission in March 2015 led to a recommended approach of integrated urban water management (IUWM) that can bring together the different agencies and stakeholders that play a role in different aspects of water management. This assignment will provide a rapid institutional assessment of the key entities involved in water management in Antananarivo and will form the basis for developing an IUWM planning process.
