Through the proposed PPP a private operator would be engaged to provide the full range of diagnostic services (CT scan, MRI, X-Ray, USG, Mammography and all laboratory tests) within Timor-Leste, reducing expenditure on transferring people/samples outside the country. The PPP will involve creation of a layered hub-and-spoke structure with important and emergency tests handled locally, while samples for other tests are moved to the nearest bigger facility, avoiding duplication in the investment, people, equipment and infrastructure.

The overall objective of this consultancy is to provide Tanzania Geothermal Development Company

The overall objective of this consultancy is to assist TGDC in preparing for geothermal exploration 
drilling in the Ngozi area in SW Tanzania. The specific objectives are i) to present best practices to TGDC for the definition of the project contracting and management structure and ii) to present best practices to TGDC on the preparation of specific documents needed for the procurement of consultants and service providers to carry out the exploration drilling project.
On the 3rd of March VNO-NCW and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency jointly hosted a World Bank 
procurement event during which a presentation was held about the new Procurement Policy Framework. Around 25 companies, many of which had been involved in the preceding stakeholder consultations, were present to learn from Mr. Enzo de Laurentiis, World Bank Regional Procurement Manager, about the new framework and the new opportunities it creates for the private sector.
Mr. de Laurentiis underlined that the new regulations introduced more flexibility in the design of the procurement process to ensure that it is fit for purpose and appropriate to the size, value and risk of the project. He added that one of the fundamental pillars of the new framework was that it allowed the use of value-for-money criteria for contract award decisions.
A key point, according to Mr. de Laurentiis, was that the World Bank will now be more involved in the contract management. He added that the World Bank would also take a more pro-active stance to facilitate solutions in regard to contract-related complaints – although legally it might not be a contract party.

IFC is seeking a consulting firm with a consortia of individuals to conduct a Strategic Environmental 
Assessment (SEA) for the hydropower sector in Myanmar. The aim of the SEA is to identify and achieve broad consensus on a balanced, equitable and sustainable development pathway for hydropower in Myanmar over the next 20 years and beyond, based on environmental, social and economic considerations, to achieve the long-term economic development and sustainable use and protection of natural resources and ecosystems.
