The World Bank-ESMAP team is launching the first Global Energy Access Household Surveys in access deficit countries to set a baseline to track progress towards Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) goal and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 7 on access to affordable, reliable and sustainable modern energy by 2030.
A reputed firm with extensive experience in household surveys is sought to conduct the baseline survey on energy access and forecast of electricity demand in Liberia using the multi-tier framework approach to track progress towards SDG7 and SE4ALL goal. The survey will be nationally representative and administered to both urban and rural localities. The firm will work with the World Bank-ESMAP to pre-test, finalize and implement the survey. Data collection should be carefully monitored to ensure high quality information. After completing the fieldwork, the firm will deliver the final dataset and summary report to the World Bank-ESMAP. Additional details on the scope of work will be available in the Terms of Reference (TOR).
World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim signals that those working on environmental projects are about to enjoy their moment in the sun.
His annoucement about a major increase in the Bank Group’s financing to help countries combat climate change by building low carbon and resilient development is likely to boost support for projects related to renewable energy and energy efficiency, climate-smart transport solutions, resilient cities, the restoration of degraded forests and landscapes, enhanced water security, and agricultural practices. The 11th of March we posted an article on our blog to make you aware of the upcoming Energy sector mission to the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Asian Development Bank and Millennium Challenge Corporation in Washington, DC from May 4 – 7, 2015.
The joint mission, involving companies from Canada, United States, Austria, France, Spain, the Netherlands and other countries is next week!
The theme of this energy mission is “Integrating Sustainable Energy in Global Development”. The mission is intended for private sector parties – both suppliers and consultants – interested in learning about business opportunities in the energy sector.
