The World Bank, on behalf of the MoP, intends to hire a consulting firm to define the shape of the desired regional energy hub in Egypt, based on a comprehensive feasibility study of costs and benefits as well as non-financial considerations; develop a strategy to achieve the establishment of that hub, the timeline in which to achieve it as well as a high-level implementation plan for it.

eater Cairo and water pollution in the Nile Delta, an analysis will be undertaken to determine the key abatement and policy measures to adhere to good practice international standards. The key sectors of analysis are: (i) waste; (ii) agriculture: (iii) sanitation: (iv) energy; (vi) transport; and (vii) industry.

This assignment aims to 1) carry-out an analysis of the motor m
arket in Egypt to understand the various types, variants, and efficiency levels and project growth levels. 2) assessment of equipment testing infrastructure available for electric motors, 3)develop test procedures base on international practice 4)develop minimum energy performance standards and roadmap.
In two weeks, the World Bank Board of Directors will be discussing the Egypt Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services project. This project, financed under Program-for-Results financing, is expected to be accepted by the Board and involves a total of $1.25 billion, of which $550 million is provided by the World Bank, $170 million is provided by the Government of Egypt, and $530 million is provided by other donors.
The objective of the Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services project is to strengthen institutions and policies for increasing access and improving rural sanitation services in the Governorates of Beheira, Dakahliya, and Sharkiya in Egypt.
