The objective of the project is to support the SMEs in Cote d’Ivoire to effectively participate in the on-going procurement reform and win more procurement contracts through a transparent and competitive process. The winning firm is expected to design and roll out a training program to train SMEs, in coordination with the authority. The selected firm is required to put forward a team that includes an individual who is well versed in the public procurement policy and institutional framework of Cote d’Ivoire as well as an individual with extensive experience in providing capacity building with thorough understanding of the reality of SMEs in Cote d’Ivoire.
The assignment is expected to be a fixed budget contract of $300,000.

eC2: Assessment and pre-feasibility study of green infrastructure solutions and disaster evacuation planning and design to mitigate flood risk and strengthen resilience

This consultancy has two main objectives: (i) elaborate green infrastructure solutions to mitigate the impact of flooding in precarious urban neighborhoods; and (ii) develop disaster evacuation planning and design strategies based on access to on-site refuges and evacuation routes to protected sites to improve the resilience of populations. The overall objective of the technical assistance is to strengthen urban resilience in Antananarivo through targeted analytical interventions in urban planning and disaster risk management that will be leveraged through the ongoing investment operation. The main beneficiaries from the planned activities are the 650,000 poorest and most flood-prone inhabitants of Antananarivo living in high risk areas, that are targeted in the PRODUIR project. Institutional beneficiaries include the Ministry of Land Planning and Public Works (MAHTP), National DRM Agencies (BNGRC and CPGU), and Municipal Authorities (CUA).

eC2: Collecting household survey data to measure the impact of floods on household welfare in the Dominican Republic

The World Bank is seeking a firm to carry out a geo referenced household survey to contribute to analysis of floods risks and household welfare in the Dominican Republic. The survey instrument will collect data on the living standards, the perceptions of flood risks, and adaption to floods in the country. The consulting firm will work closely with the World Bank team to develop the appropriate sampling frame and methods, and will have responsibility to deliver survey implementation, including, inter alia: identifying and training enumerators and supervisors; pilot testing the survey methodology using the agreed upon data collection technology; and ensuring quality control through effective arrangements for field supervision and data collection and household follow-ups. Deliverables will include clean and formatted survey data, a data codebook in English, and written reports.

eC2: Pakistan (Sindh): Public-Private Dialogue Platform Facilitator/Coordinator

The World Bank recently completed a study in Pakistan (Sindh Province) through the Private Health Sector Assessment in Pakistan (P164409) and shared the Policy Note For Better Quality and More Integrated PHC Services in Sindh Province: Options Paper with the provincial government counterparts and key stakeholders. This report highlighted that a platform for continuous dialogue between the private and public health sectors is currently absent in the Sindh health system, and could provide a useful entry-point for discussions and sustainable partnerships. In this light, the World Bank, in collaboration with the GoS will support the engagement of key stakeholders through facilitating a Public-Private Dialogue Platform (PPD). This structured forum, will initially be supported by the World Bank, and will consist of quarterly meetings of a consultative group organized in workshop-style discussions, allowing for short presentations to introduce topics or share background information.

City Planning Labs (CPL) is one such Bank Executed Technical Assistance initiative that aims to support municipal governments to build capacity for a data-driven approach to city planning, enabling the development of smart, inclusive, and sustainable cities. Given the success of the interventions in two Indonesian cities namely Kota Semarang and Kota Denpasar, CPL has received multi-year support from the Indonesia Sustainable Urbanization (IDSUN) Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) to scale-up the initiative.
