World Bank Raises 2016 Oil Price Forecast, Revises Down Agriculture Price Projections

This consultancy has three main objectives: (a) Update the information about the current waterpiped sewerage system and treatment plant of Monrovia (Liberia), in particular carry out a customer enumeration, compile a map of the existing system as well as estimate the demand and willingness to pay for piped sewerage; (b) Assess the technical options and associated costs for a rehabilitation of Monrovias piped sewerage system, and its phased extension to priority areas, recommending a technical solution;(c) For the recommended approach, prepare a detailed design and costing, including draft safeguard and tender documents, for Phase 1 i.e. the rehabilitation of the existing system and important minor extensions up to a budget of US$ 20m.

Leaders Aim to Put a Price on Half of All Global Carbon Emissions

Ten leaders, including Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, have laid out goals in a joint vision statement to expand carbon pricing to cover 25 percent of global emissions by 2020, and achieve 50 percent coverage within the next decade.

Currently, some 40 governments and 23 cities, states and regions put a price on carbon pollution, accounting for 12 percent of annual global greenhouse gas emissions. This marks a three-fold increase over the past decade.

IFC is working with KTDA to carry out soil and leaf testing across the 67 factories. The project will collect a statistically valid set of soil and leaf samples from each major soil type. Analysis of these samples will identify macro and micro soil nutrient deficiencies, which will be addressed through the development of improved fertilizer blends and application recommendations.
