Indonesia has made substantial progress on implementing the International Health Regulation (IHR) 2005 and just conducted a Joint External Evaluation (JEE) which identified priority gaps to improve its IHR core capacities. Recognizing the need for sustainable financing for health security, Indonesia is committing to taking part on a health security financing assessment. The World Bank is providing technical assistance to the Government of Indonesia to implement the health financing security assessment tool (HSFAT) that has been developed for countries conduct the assessment. The assignment is focusing on the following (i) quantitative analysis of the Financing for Health Security Components, especially at the sub national level (Province and District level); (ii) qualitative information on planning and budgeting processes, organization arrangement, and (iii) case study on recent outbreak in Indonesia. Data collection will be done in selected provinces (probably 2) and one district from each selected province.
For this assignment, the firm will be working in close coordination with the World Bank team currently working on the Central level health security financing.
The firm will work with the Technical Task Force (TTF) to involve other relevant agencies in both the public, private sectors and community based organization that need to be included in the assessment.

IFC seeks to procure the services of a consulting firm to conduct stakeholder mapping and needs assessment as part of work that aims to improve water efficiency in South Africa’s agri-processing sector by promoting water and energy efficiency technologies and practices, alternative water resource development, water reuse and recycling, and improved wastewater management. The stakeholder mapping and needs assessment will result in mapping of firms, identification of opportunities for improving water efficiency (and related energy efficiency), an assessment of knowledge needs and gaps, an assessment of the policy and regulatory environment, and prioritization of interventions to support an enabling environment for water efficiency (expected to focus at the municipal level).
WASHINGTON, Sept. 19, 2018 Fewer people are living in extreme poverty around the world, but the decline in poverty rates has slowed, raising concerns about achieving the
goal of ending poverty by 2030 and pointing to the need for increased pro-poor investments, the World Bank finds.
The percentage of people living in extreme poverty globally fell to a new low of 10 percent in 2015 — the latest number available — down from 11 percent in 2013, reflecting steady but slowing progress, World Bank data show. The number of people living on less than $1.90 a day fell during this period by 68 million to 736 million.

Solid waste management is a universal issue that matters to every single person in the world. And with over 90% of waste openly dumped or burned in low-income countries, it is the poor and most vulnerable who are disproportionately affected.
In recent years, landslides of waste dumps have buried homes and people under piles of waste. And it is the poorest who often live near waste dumps and power their city’s recycling system through waste picking, leaving them susceptible to serious health repercussions.
Coding bootcamps, a type of rapid tech skills training program, have recently emerged as
a promising approach to equipping individuals with the skills needed to thrive in digital economies. Despite the potential of these programs, women often participate at lower rates than men.
The Women Wavemakers report draws on the experiences of 25 coding bootcamps and seven digital skills programs in 22 countries to provide a menu of options that providers and policymakers can test and refine, in three key areas:

Assignment Description: This assignment is to develop an operational multi-country flood monitoring platform allowing near real-time assessment of water extent and population affected. The loss estimation data produced will inform disaster risk management decisions as well as support the definition of insurance products for a quick response financing mechanism. The platform will be built on an architecture developed under an existing project led by the World Bank. It will re-use existing deliverables and will specifically aim at automating the processing and integration of satellite data into global hydromet models, as well as test assumptions and outputs against real life scenarios through intensive verification and validation work. All operational aspects will have to be addressed in order to produce a robust, automated and fully operational web-based system with a strong focus on risk transfer applications.
