The expected results of the activity are to:

(i) Draw Lessons from Other PPPs in the Water Sector in Angola;

(ii) Undertake an assessment of Cabinda water utility operations;

(iii) Carry out a stakeholder engagement analysis;

(iv) Prepare options and strategy for structuring a PPP scheme in Cabinda;

(v) Support the preparation of the preferred PPP project option; and

(vi) Provide lessons learning and capacity building support

eC2: Cumulative Impact Assessment and Management in the Trishuli River Basin

The Project aims to facilitate collaborative assessment, monitoring and management of cumulative impacts via the participatory development and implementation of a Trishuli Basin Co-Management Platform (TCMP). The TCMP would be led by a team comprising the IFC, private sector HPP developers and the Government of Nepal – in permanent consultation with potentially affected communities, CSOs, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders. The TCMP is expected to significantly enhance governance in the Trishuli Basin and make planning and development of future HPPs and associated infrastructure more sustainable, efficient and transparent. The TCMP will support the mitigation of potential cumulative environmental and social impacts resulting from multiple or successive developments.

Therefore, the consultant is expected to work closely with the CWA and in coordination with GDPWS of MIH in all aspects of the assignment.

The Program is looking to hire an individual short-term consultant senior technical expert – to strengthen the Program teams technical expertise in water efficiency.The consultant is expected to provide technical input in delivering individual client engagements and sector-level activities.

The Program aims to catalyze uptake and increase investments in climate friendly energy and water efficient solutions, so that companies and municipalities in ECA become more productive and competitive. The Program delivers IFC services in energy and resource efficiency area via two components: (1) firm level advisory engagements and (2) market/sector-level activities with groups of firms.
The Program plans to develop a standardized advisory service to assess water efficiency, including water preparation and wastewater treatment, for its food processing clients in the region (the tool).
