IFC Advisory is looking for a consulting firm which will carry out a market assessment of the potential for o&m outsourcing in Nepal, and develop a business plan accordingly for an O&M service company. The firm will also review the existing experience within BPC, develop the necessary processes (technical and commercial) and optimize the organization structure. The Consultant will prepare and deliver two 1-week training sessions as well as accompany BPC staff to visit one hydro plant in another country which has been outsourced to a specialized company. The consulting firm shall have in-depth experience in hydropower O&M and the concept of outsourcing.

IFC is looking for a Consultant to help assess the impact of an investment project in 
Uganda, financed by IFC and the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program.
The project is expected to be a senior loan to a bank in Uganda focused on the micro and small market segments. The purpose of the project is to support the expansion of the banks lending program to micro enterprises owned by women and in the agriculture sector.

The IFC project aims to support the development of an e-waste management solution for the electronics industry to address the challenge of responsible collection and recycling of electronic waste in India at scale and in a cost-effective manner. The goal of the IFC project is to work with private sector entities such as Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) and Industry Associations and waste management companies to establish a long-term solution to the e-waste challenges in India that the electronics sector as well as consumers face. The fundamental objectives of the Project are to (i) establish an Industry-led Solution for electronic producers to responsibly manage, collect and ensure responsible recycling of obsolete or discarded electronic products (e-Waste), (ii) Raise awareness among the public and other key stakeholders on the need of responsibly collect and recycle e-waste, and (iii) develop a locally relevant system for responsible e-waste management in India and a toolkit for dissemination of learnings from the Project.

A baseline study involving qualitative and quantitative methods will be conducted in the malt barley sector in Ethiopia. The baseline study will provide IFC management and the project staff with information, lessons and recommendations that can be used to improve the design of similar projects elsewhere.

IFCs SME Ventures supports local entrepreneurship in FCS, IDA and frontier markets by providing risk capital/ patient capital that are otherwise extremely scarce. Established in 2008, the successful raise of a follow-on fund by the Central Africa SME Fund validated IFCs pioneering role, and IFC secured Boards approval to expand the program globally in 2015.
Building on its decades experience, the SME Ventures, by working with the FCS Africa team, (the project team, hereafter) intends to develop a knowledge product that provides a practical and relevant information and guidance to GPs and LPs. The knowledge product will capture the SME Ventures and its partners experience and provide insights and solutions to day to day challenges that GPs and LPs face. The final report will be launched during the fourth SME Ventures Forum in March 2018.
