The global energy landscape is undergoing a major transformation. This year’s 
Innovate4Climate (I4C) will have a priority focus on battery storage, helping to identify ways to overcome the technology, policy and financing barriers to deploy batteries widely and close the global energy storage gap.
Here are four things about battery storage that are worth knowing.

The work under this project will be done through the three major tasks described below:
1. Feasibility study of energy storage for frequency support in WAPP power system
2. Assessment of energy storage applications in WAPP countries (on grid systems and off-grid mini grids, building/factory storage, etc.)
3. Financial assessment of incorporating energy storage for grid support
Batteries that can store renewable energy for longer and at half the current cost have been hailed as an energy revolution that could transform Africa’s power supply.
