How can Hong Kong stay smart and competitive? By driving change through a ‘Public-Private-People Partnership’ approach
According to the World Economic Forum’s “Global Competitiveness Report 2016-2017,” Hong Kong dropped two notches to rank as No. 9 in its Global Competitiveness Index. The decline occurred mainly because the city faces challenges to “evolve from one of the world’s foremost financial hubs to become an innovative powerhouse.”

The study would include Building the case around Smart interventions in the urban transport sector through use of electric vehicles (public buses as well as two-three wheelers). November 14-18, Asia Smart City Conference Yokohama, Japan.
Starting from 2012, City Yokohama invites mayors from emerging Asian countries and international organizations to the Asia Smart City Conference. As part of the conference this year, the Tokyo Development Learning Center and the Smart Cities KSB will organize a Smart City Technical Deep Dive and one-day World Bank Smart City Summit. Piloting projects are under planning and the Bank will send roughly 20 project clients and 10 Bank staff to attend the conference. Find more here. |
eC2: TDLC Asia Smart City Conference – World Bank Day Event Management

The Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC) program is a partnership of Japan and the Social, Urban, Rural and Resilience Global Practice (SURR) of the World Bank. TDLC is seeking to contract with a firm to support organization of our knowledge networking and outreach activity for the Asia Smart City Conference World Bank Day. The Consultant will support the delivery of the International Conference schedule for 11/17/2016, including planning and preparation, conference organization, and preparation of minutes. The Consultant will provide delivery of the conference service, starting from the preparation phase, during the implementation and through the follow-up phase.

The Long and Winding Road to Smart City P3s Workshop , is co-organized by Smart & Resilient Cities and Meeting of the Minds. The half-day, two-panel program will utilize the rich resources of Scranton Gillette Communications and Meeting of the Minds to explore the position of Public Private Partnerships for Transportation (P3s) in the modern infrastructure portfolio and conclude with a networking reception.
