The World Bank is seeking an experienced senior Land Use Planning Specialist consultant (LUPS), who would be based in Maputo (ideally for 100% of his/ her time) to provide technical support and advice on the following:
a) Design and implmentation of the World Bank program of technical assistance on land use planning (LAUREL), intended to support integrated decision making for landscape management across sectors and levels of government
b)  Design and implmentation of  Mozambique’s National Territorial Development Plan (PNDT in the Portuguese acronym)
The contract would have an initial duration 150 days, with the possibility of extension, subject to performance and funding.

The “Agence Sénégalaise dElectrification Rurale” (Senegalese Agency for Rural Electrification – ASER), established in 2000, is the autonomous governmental agency in charge of implementing all rural electrification programs in the country.
ASER is considering a proposal to buy down the connection fees for the households. Instead of asking the concessionaires to directly reduce the cost of connection (and ASER reimbursing that amount to the concessionaires), ASER will implement a coupon/voucher scheme, wherein households will receive coupon/voucher of certain cash values that they can use to pay for the connection fees.

The objective of the assignment is to support the government in establishing a foundation for mainstreaming climate resilience considerations in the road transport sector management in the Republic of Serbia by developing an effective methodology for assessing vulnerability of the road transport network to the climate related risks, providing set of recommendations for improvements of the current practices and capacities of key stakeholders, piloting of the proposal, and setting the path for development of structured and systematic response plans. The assignment should provide a foundation for sustainable technical, legislative, institutional, and managerial framework for climate resilience monitoring and planning of the road transport network. The proposed vulnerability assessment methodology and recommendations for improvement of the road asset management will be piloted and tested on 250km of roads in Valjevo region, but it is expected to be applicable to the entire country.
