Objective: IFC is seeking a consulting firm to provide support in promoting the open call for applications and in supporting the implementation of field testing/demonstration projects. Specific responsibilities under this assignment include: 1) Promoting the TechEmerge Brazil Health program, including the Open Call for applications. 2) Managing and overseeing the implementation of the selected pilot projects to receive support and grant funding under the TechEmerge Brazil Health program. The primary objective of the research to help to give informed decisions on the best approach to address the productive use opportunities and challenges as well as to inform the associates to the program of the existing opportunities for supplying the products and the market potential. eC2: Zambia – Preparation of a Least Cost Geospatial Electrification Plan for Grid and Off-Grid Rollout

Objective:  In Zambia, the overall national electricity access rate, defined as connection to the grid, is low at 31 percent. While the overall access rate in Zambia has steadily increasing in past years, rural access has stagnated at 4 percent. The proposed Least Cost Geospatial Electrification Plan is designed to underpin the National Electrification Strategy and the National electrification Programmme in Zambia. It will establish a high resolution geospatial data system, long term electricity demand forecasts and algorithmic, least cost optimization of grid and off-grid electricity systems, including rollout plan with phased investments to scale-up electricity access rates. In addition, the plan will develop cost estimates of supply options such as grid, mini-grid, and standalone systems to reach remote areas. The World Bank, with support from the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), is seeking to hire a consulting firm (the Consultant) to assist GRZ in the preparation of its Least Cost Geospatial Electrification Plan for Grid and Off-Grid Rollout.

eC2: Dar es Salaam Community Disaster Response and Risk Reduction Plans

Objective: The objective of this assignment is to develop Municipal Disaster Response Plans, Community Disaster Response Plans, and Community Risk Reduction Plans in flood affected areas of Dar es Salaam. These fit into existing frameworks such as the Disaster Management Act of 2015, the Emergency Response Plan of the Dar es Salaam Multi-Agency Emergency Response Team (DarMAERT), the Tanzania Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan, and other local level initiatives. Expected outputs over the two-year contract period also include: creation of toolkits to support the development of the plans; onboarding of Subward Community Disaster Management Committees; and collection of monitoring and evaluation data. The assignment forms part of broader efforts to mainstream risk management principles across government and civil society stakeholders. The toolkits and plans developed are can serve as a template for other cities in Tanzania.
