eC2: Development of a Study on the Establishment of the Klokot Spring Cross-Border Sanitary Protection Zones

A Study on the Spring Sanitary Protection Zones is needed to mitigate against the sourcesbalkans of pollution and the World Bank (the Bank) has been requested by the relevant Governments to carry it out. To do so, in compliance with the requirements of the eligible BETF and RETF activities, the Bank will hire a consultant company (the Consultant) to prepare the Study while monitoring and coordinating the activities of the latter with those carried out by the beneficiary countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, and their consultants, including a Steering Board and a Study Implementation Team. The consultant will prepare the Study to help the beneficiary countries identify the effective sanitary protection measures for the springs to prevent groundwater pollution (the quantitative and qualitative features), and to share with them relevant recommendations for the monitoring of the groundwater in the relevant areas in the future, with the aim of allowing a timely identification of the eventual water quality deterioration in the catchment area.

eC2: Improvement of seven solid waste disposal sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina Prefeasibility, Preliminary design and Preliminary environmental and social analysis

Objective:  The scope of this assignment includes study of seven (7) waste disposal sites in various locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and provide recommendations on closure, rehabilitation, and upgrade to reduce/ minimize the environmental impact and/or establishment of new landfill capacity. The Consultant should be alert to the difference in the environmental characteristics of the study area in each case and their physical, biological, cultural property and socio-economic conditions.

eC2:Consulting Services for Design and Development of a Transport Data Management System to Monitor Corridor Performance

KUTEI (Kabul Urban Transport Effciency Improvment)

The project will finance consulting services for the design and initial implementation of the TDMS on Corridor Vc (prototype version). The project includes refining the design based on the implementation experience and developing a master plan for rolling out the system in the Western Balkans. The roll out of the TDMS system will constitute the second phase of this project and is not part of the scope of this activity. The TDMS will utilize a combination of data from computerized sources (such as vehicle tracking systems) and manual reports from various data providers.

eC2: Solid Waste Management Technical Assistance for Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening

The objective is to enhance the capacity of key sector stakeholders BiH in SWM, throughsolid waste the following activities: (i) Develop and deliver a comprehensive capacity building program that targets the entire vertical chain of stakeholders; (ii) provide technical assistance to FMET in the Federation, MPPCE in RS, Brcko District, MOFTER at the BiH level; (iii) organize study tours to well operated landfills, waste collection companies, MRF in the EU and BiH; (iv) facilitate FIDIC trainings at a specialized training facility.

eConsultant2:Project Coordinator for the Reducing Health Risk Factors in Bosnia and Herzegovina Project

The overall goal of the project is to reduce health risk factors for non-communicable medical-appointment-doctor-healthcare-clinic-health-hospital-medicine[7]diseases (NCD) such as cardiovascular diseases, cancers, diabetes and chronic respiratory diseases, that account for two thirds of deaths worldwide. The leading causes of ill-health and disability in the country reported as having one of the highest rates of smoking prevalence in the world are found to be tobacco and alcohol abuse, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity. The goal of this project is therefore reduction of these risk factors by promoting tobacco and alcohol control, improving diet and physical activity.
