The objective of the assignment is to produce a publication (“primer”) on Zero Carbon Buildings (ZCBs) that provides insights and recommendations on how to shift towards ZCBs in World Bank Group (WBG) client (low- and middle-income countries) projects and programs. The assignment will include (a) development and production of a primer on ZCBs and (b) delivering one presentation of the key insights and recommendations from the primer in a (virtual) event. The primer is expected to be about 100 pages long, with the first part focused on compiling and synthesizing existing information and the second part focused on recommendations to the WBG and its clients (on good practice policies and regulation for ZCBs; recommendations for implementing ZCBs; costs and benefits of ZCBs; and case studies with lessons-learned).
In 2020, swarms of desert locusts descended on northern Kenya in the country’s worst locust 
infestation in 70 years. They ate crops and threatened the food security of 3 million people. Locusts brought similar devastation to some of the poorest countries in Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, as governments and communities braced for the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is increasingly apparent that the costs of COVID-19 will be borne disproportionately by poorer segments of society, especially in lower income countries. Women, children and displaced 
populations have been hardest hit. This crisis – more so than other crises before – requires scalable solutions for the world’s poorest. For many countries, this presents unchartered territory.

in extreme poverty? When data are turned into valuable information, they have the potential to improve lives, transform economies, and help end poverty. Now more than ever, the world is facing new demands for data as our principal weapon in the war against COVID-19. The objective of this assignment is to conduct In-depth Cleaner Production assessments at 23 textile wet-processing units in Bangladesh.The overall goal is of this assignment is to enhance the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of the textile wet processing sector in Bangladesh. The program will focus on water as the primary driver for change but will also address energy and chemical use (water-energy chemical nexus) for an integrated approach to resource efficiency.The proposed assignment shall be conducted by a consortium of 1 local firm, and 1 international firm, or by 1 international firm having a very strong local presence (with strong technical local team).
