The objective of the proposed activity is to prepare a National Electrification Strategy (NES) for Malawi along with an NES implementation plan to support the national electricity access agenda. The NES will lay out the technical, institutional, and financial pathway to achieve Malawi’s access vision. The World Bank is seeking expressions of interest for conducting the activity. Interested firms are requested to submit the same highlighting their qualifications for undertaking the assignment based on the required criteria.

The SADC Disaster Risk Reduction Strategic Plan lays out the following key activities: To strengthen governance, legal and institutional framework at all levels of DRR in the region. Facilitate the identification, assessment and monitoring of disaster risks and support the enhancement of early warning systems at all levels. Promote the usage and management of information and knowledge, innovation and education to build a culture of safety and resilience at all levels in the SADC region; Ensure that DRR becomes a national and local priority with a strong institutional basis for implementation; and The integration of preparedness and emergency response into national and regional DRR interventions.

eConsultant2: Malawi GAFSP Evaluation – Survey Firm – DEADLINE AUGUST 13

IFC is looking to hire a survey firm to manage all aspects of a baseline household data collection, entry and management for a prospective, rigorous impact evaluation of two interventions: an outgrower scheme and employment of unskilled labor at a commercial farm. The purpose of the household surveys is to estimate the baseline wellbeing of smallholder farmers in the Salima province of Malawi, where the company operates. The baseline will be used to better understand the context of these farmers, and to measure the effects of their engagements with the company over time by comparing the results against a midline (September 2017) and an endline (September 2019) data collection.
