The World Bank is seeking to hire a Consultant to support GDC in developing a comprehensive business plan and financial model. The business plan and financial model will ensure that GDC is taking full advantage of revenue-generating opportunities arising from growing demand for geothermal power in Kenya, and that it is using its financial resources as efficiently as possible.

The purpose of this assignment is to assess the technical and economic viability of
different options for direct uses of geothermal energy in Turkey, including district heating and cooling. This includes both projects where low to medium temperature resources are utilized directly and also projects were residual heat in geothermal brines at geothermal power plants is used.
Tasks are expected to include:
– Country-wide, high-level assessment of direct use potential
– Preparation of pre-feasibility studies for selected applications
– Assessment of interest of municipalities and private developers
– Estimation of investment needs to allow the market to grow to its potential
– Barrier assessment
– Preparation of action plan/roadmap for the promotion of direct uses of geothermal resources

The ultimate objective is to help increase the MWs of geothermal capacity installed by

The overall objective of this consultancy is to assist TGDC in preparing for geothermal exploration 
drilling in the Ngozi area in SW Tanzania. The specific objectives are i) to present best practices to TGDC for the definition of the project contracting and management structure and ii) to present best practices to TGDC on the preparation of specific documents needed for the procurement of consultants and service providers to carry out the exploration drilling project.

The World Bank will hire a consultant firm to support MoEP in the preparation of the 
Geothermal Strategy. The consultant responsibilities are expected to include:
a) Review of the adequacy of existing arrangements for geothermal development with particular focus on the following key areas: ………
b) Development of specific objectives on geothermal development, deliverable targets, and plans including actions that adequately address the challenges in (a) above.
c) Prepare the Geothermal Strategy document for MoEP, including implementation plan.
d) Present the results in a workshop of stakeholders, potentially including investors conference.
IFC is seeking the services of a Consulting Firm (the Consultant) to develop a regulatory framework for the development of geothermal resources in Ethiopia, including templates for such licenses.
