Deadline: 18-Apr-2017 at 11:59:59 PM (Eastern Time – Washington D.C.)
The World Bank (WB) is initiating a new technical assistance activity focused on Renewable Energy Resource Mapping in Laos, with funding from the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP). The initial focus will be on small hydro mapping, with other components potentially added in the future depending on funding availability and client demand.
The assignment will include the assessment, validation and mapping of hydropower resources in Laos, with a focus on small hydropower potential for more detailed analysis. The assignment will broadly follow the three phases for renewable energy resource assessment and mapping defined by ESMAP (see https://www.esmap.org/node/57189), but the selected consultant will be requested to elaborate on the best approach for Laos following an initial engagement with the client and the WB team. The assignment is likely to be commissioned in stages to allow the WB to assess demand for further work and to better align this to client priorities. As a result, it is possible the assignment will be concluded following Phase 1 or Phase 2, and so the selected consultant will be asked to adopt a flexible approach to implementation.
