eC2: Support Private Sector Participation in LGUs Water Supply and Sanitation Systems

The objective of the assignment is to undertake the following: (i) support the province in preparation for the DBO/DBL through capacity building and perform collaborative activities with national government agencies through NEDA to ensure that WSS subprojects are in sync and within the implementation reforms that will be instituted under the currently approved PWSSMP, specifically the achievement on the KPIs and proper operationalization of the Unified Resource Allocation Framework (URAF); (ii) strengthen technical and economic analysis of the projects; (iii) assist in the market survey to ensure robust interests of the private sector; and (iv) support the preparation of an O&M plan .

eC2: South Asia Water Initiative (SAWI) Rivers and Plastics – A Diagnostic Report for the Indus Basin in Pakistan

The assignment includes but not limited to gap analysis of relevant existing policy and institutional architecture, stakeholder consultations, developing and implementing a methodology for sampling, testing, and data analysis of macro/microplastic load, and providing actionable recommendations based on primary and secondary research.
Firms responding to this EOI must have direct, relevant experience in river/marine pollution data collection and analysis and interventions, as demonstrated by relevant project case histories and depth and breadth of staff expertise. Interested firms or consortia must have a local office and presence in Pakistan to be eligible.

eC2: PROVISION OF COMPREHENSIVE TRADE EFFLUENT WATER QUALITY ANALYSIS

The scope of services under this RFP consists of the following:
Collect on-site composite samples from the industrial/commercial clients prioritized for sampling and analysis. Undertake effluent water quality analysis of collected samples covering all the typical pollutants limited and controlled by the utilities and guided by EMCA 1999 standards and regulations.
o The presence, concentrations and levels of contaminates to be analyzed should include but not limited to; toxic Metals (Chromium, Lead, Mercury, Zinc, Copper, etc.), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Organics (Hydrocarbons, Pesticides, Herbicides), Flammable Substances. A tentative list is provided in Annex I. The final list will be concluded during the Inception stage.

eC2:  Capacity building on non-revenue water reduction and control, including through performance-based contracts, for the water and sewerage

The activity consists in capacity building on non-revenue water (NRW) reduction and control, including through performance-based contracts (PBCs), of the water and sewerage utility of the State of Pernambuco, Brazil (Compesa), and is part of the “Recife Smart Urban Water Management” Program, aiming to support the modernization of water supply and sanitation service delivery in the Recife Metropolitan Region (RMR), through the piloting of innovative smart water approaches. The specific objective of this activity is to develop and deliver a training program on NRW reduction and PBCs, comprising four modules, as well as both a distance learning and an in person components. In addition, the Firm will deliver a NRW reduction and PBC toolkit as a reference and guide for Compesa.

The primary objective of this Consultancy is to take stock of baseline information for plastic waste leakage into rivers and seas to build a more harmonized regional monitoring, management, and policy framework for plastic waste reduction and enable a more circular economy model for plastics in the South Asia Region. The proposed assignment will document the current status of plastic pollution and its value chain (e.g. hotspots for marine plastic debris, waste composition, material flow of waste plastics), regulatory gap analysis, and identification of relevant stakeholders involved in the life-cycle of plastic and their needs, and possible recycling technology and innovations, etc.
