The aim is to better understand the legal, regulatory and institutional frameworks to manage and assure safety of communities downstream of dams in various global country contexts. A Global Coordinating Consultant has been appointed under the parent project and is facilitating the compilation of the global case studies based on a pro forma template.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector investment arm of the World Bank Group (WBG), pursues its mission of reducing poverty and improving peoples lives by promoting private sector development through investment and advisory services.
The IFC wishes to publish an Expression of Interest (EoI) to contract a firm (locally based in Rwanda) to design and implement a cooperative business management capacity building program among cooperatives in Rwanda working with major off taker in the Maize and Soy subsector of Rwanda The program will initially cover 8 maize (and soy bean) growers cooperatives in Eastern province for at least two (2) years.

eC2: Lighting Asia Bangladesh Consumer Education and Outreach Campaign

Lighting Asia -Bangladesh is designed to counter market spoilage by promotingsolar-energy internationally accepted quality standards. It also works to remove tariff and non-tariff market entry barriers. The program also undertakes market research to generate market intelligence on market size, consumer preferences, access to finance, distribution channels etc. Low consumer awareness on high quality, affordable, solar-powered lighting products and appliances has been identified as a constraint to the uptake of clean lighting alternatives, and therefore a hindrance to the development of the off-grid lighting market in Bangladesh.  The Lighting Asia Bangladesh team is now looking for an agency to implement its Consumer Education and Outreach Campaign.

eC2:Wind Resource Assessment and Mapping

The envisaged scope of the Master Agreement would be based on access to high quality, global, and regularly updated wind resource data from a maintained dataset, founded on the most advanced, peer reviewed wind resource modeling methodologies currently available. The resource data shall be scientifically validated using ground-based measurements where these exist, with the validation results in the public domain. However, the Master Agreement would not include provision for new ground-based measurements, nor would the winning Vendor be expected to commission ground-based measurements themselves. The dataset shall include all the key variables for mesoscale wind resource assessment, at multiple heights, at a minimum resolution of 3km, and with a temporal coverage of at least 10 years.

IFC’s Hydro Advisory program is currently implementing a new environmental and social standards in the hydropower sector program in Myanmar. The overall program aims to increase the share of new hydropower investments that adhere to good international industry E&S practices and will involve working closely with government, the private sector, the World Bank and other stakeholders in this space.

The purpose of the assignment will be for a Myanmar National Consultant to assist with program support, implementation of activities, and communication.
