Lighting Asia -Bangladesh is designed to counter market spoilage by promoting internationally accepted quality standards. It also works to remove tariff and non-tariff market entry barriers. The program also undertakes market research to generate market intelligence on market size, consumer preferences, access to finance, distribution channels etc. Low consumer awareness on high quality, affordable, solar-powered lighting products and appliances has been identified as a constraint to the uptake of clean lighting alternatives, and therefore a hindrance to the development of the off-grid lighting market in Bangladesh. The Lighting Asia Bangladesh team is now looking for an agency to implement its Consumer Education and Outreach Campaign.
