eC2: ABP2 Mekong Delta Pillar: Firm consultants for climate-resilient livelihood models and transition strategies in the Mekong Delta

Objective: The Consultant will provide technical expertise across a range of fields including agro-ecology, livelihood adaptation, agricultural economics and value chain, and community and gender, to review, identify and provide analysis of sustainable climate-resilient transition models in agriculture, aquaculture, and horticulture livelihoods in the Mekong Delta. 1. Task 1: Define and describe the context and trends in at least six (06) agro-ecological sub-regions in the Mekong Delta: Plain of Reeds, Coastal LXQ, Mid-Tien and Mid-Hau River, West-Hau River, Ca Mau Peninsular, and West Coast Peninsula . 2. Yunus owns a fabric store in Blantyre, Malawi. The store was founded by his inheritpossibility_780x439_1grandfather, who immigrated to Malawi in 1927, and has now been in his family for three generations. Business is good, Yunus said, but that the cost of essential services like electricity and water has gone up since his grandfather and father owned the store. Even so, he remains optimistic.

Marija Bosheva is a student at an agriculture and forestry vocational high school in Kavadarci, Macedonia. Like many high school students around the world, she takes daily lessons in history, math, biology, and chemistry. However, unlike many of her peers, she is also studying oenology — the art of making wine.

eC2: Technical Assistance to County Health Systems: Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Reporting

Objective:  The selected firm (s) will provide technical support to county health planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting (PBMR) processes. The TA will support capacity building of the County Departments of Health (CDOH) on preparation of key PBMR tools that will include Annual Performance Review (APR), preparation of Annual Work Plans (AWP) and Programme Based Budget (PBB) using the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to ensure linkage between planning and budgeting processes at the county level as well as review of the previous fiscal year PBB budgets using Public Expenditure Review (PERs) approach and methodology. The TA will be expected to start from August 2018 up until May 2019. The Firm will be expected to prepare training, guidelines and other tools that will facilitate delivery of a standardized and harmonized PBMR TA; provide hands on TA from August until May throughout the planning and budgeting cycle; appraise health sector AWP and other plans to ensure alignment with the sector budgeting processes; and appraise the county health budget and expenditure framework to ensure inclusion of sector conditional grants and use of SCOA and budget structure.

eC2:Technical Consultant support to States for the National Nutrition Mission

Objective: The World Bank is providing technical assistance to the MWCD, GoI through a Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) Partnership for Nutrition Results in India to support the implementation of National Nutrition Mission (NNM). Part of this support includes providing technical assistance to the Project States through state based technical consultants to support the quality of implementation. Towards this end, the MDTF seeks to hire a firm to hire and manage State level consultants in 10 high priority project states viz. Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

eC2: Architectural design and construction oversight for climate resilient housing in the southern coastal regions of Bangladesh

Objective: IFC is partnering with a prominent microfinance institution (MFI) to develop and pilot a climate resilient housing microfinance product in the southern coastal regions of Bangladesh. The firm selected will support this effort through designing the architecture for and overseeing the construction of climate resilient housing renovations. The firm will be expected to: 1.Support the capacity development of the partner NGO to introduce the housing micro-finance product in the market. 2.Review various construction designs for the climate resilient low-cost housing for vulnerable communities and develop recommendations that can be piloted through micro finance. 3.Roll out pilot through the partner NGO overseeing the financial and engineering activities.

Objective: IFC seeks to hire the services of a Consulting firm to support harmonization of technical standards and specifications for private or community operating mini-grid systems in Zambia. For the purposes of this engagement, the working definition of a mini-grid is an interconnected electric power distribution system that can operate independent or/and connected to the main grid and contains some local generation. The technical standards and specifications will comprise a set of clearly documented requirements to be satisfied by mini-grid developers and operators in relation to material choice, system design and service level. These specifications should aim to create a common understanding and basis of expectations among developers, operators, regulators and consumers on the various levels of acceptable service delivery including technical, safety, cost and reliability issues. The work will include development of standards and specifications as needed, institutional arrangement recommendations, and implementation support.

eC2: Developing Agri-finance value proposition and digitizing Agri Value Chains

Objective: IFC advisory services program for agriculture finance, under the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) department was approved and launched in 2015. The 5-year program works with commercial banks, microfinance banks, non-bank financial institutions such as leasing, insurance companies, and commodity exchanges amongst various players to develop a broad range of financial services for the agriculture sector, including credit, savings and transactional products. The program supports IFC financial institutions clients to increase lending to the agriculture sector and to indirectly create access to finance opportunities for smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa. IFC Digital Financial Services (DFS) advisory services program, also under the FIG department, supports microfinance institutions (MFIs), banks, and mobile network operators (MNOs) across the African continent to develop and text innovative business models for financial inclusion.
