eC2: Baseline Analysis of Urban Flood Risks and High Priority Investment Gaps in Indonesian Cities

Objective: The World Bank is supporting the Government of Indonesia in its efforts to enhance resilience and flood risk management of its cities. This study will provide a baseline analysis of urban flood risks and high priority investment gaps based on a sample of 20-25 Indonesian cities, consolidate data and information, and conduct in-depth analysis of existing infrastructure and non-structural measures for high-risk areas in a selected 5 cities. The analysis will be based on developed criteria, taking into consideration a range of factors including flood risk, economic growth potential of cities, current and future risk information, and integrated urban flood risk management planning, and results of stakeholder consultations. The study is expected to increase information and awareness at national and city levels on gaps in infrastructure and non-structural measures for flood risk reduction and disaster risk management, as well as resilient and sustainable investment options.

eC2: Development of quantitative tools for Disaster Risk Finance

The World Bank-GFDRR DRFIP is seeking support in the development of 4 interactive Bangladeshi villagers repair a vital flood-protecting embankmentquantitative tools to support decision-making in financial disaster risk management. The tools will draw on current international best practice in user interface design, transparency and quality in coding, and probabilistic financial and actuarial analysis.

This consultancy covers the compilation and cleansing of data (from public sources); the development of quantitative methodology; and production (design, development, validation and testing) of 4 quantitative interactive tools in MS Excel. The quantitative tools will be generic tools that can be adapted and applied to support capacity building and decision making in many countries. The tools will allow decision makers to assess the liability and fiscal funding gap following a disaster, understand the financial implications of different DRF strategies, as well as answer questions about financial instruments and define relevant policy options.

Promote the usage and management of information and knowledge, innovation and education to build a culture of safety and resilience at all levels in the SADC region; Ensure that DRR becomes a national and local priority with a strong institutional basis for implementation; and The integration of preparedness and emergency response into national and regional DRR interventions.

eC2: Evaluation firm – UAV4Resilience
