poverty: extreme poverty rates had been steadily declining for more than two decades. Although considerable challenges like debt still loomed large for the poorest countries, the positive trajectory in the fight against poverty brought great hope for a better future—a future I still believe in.
eC2: Digital Government Readiness Assessment (DGRA) toolkit with COVID-19 pillar

Specific activities include: (1) conduct a diagnostic of existing digital government readiness assessment tools respectively developed by the World Bank team and a partner organization; (2) document best practices of digital solutions for COVID-19; update the existing DGRA tool with COVID-19 (and other) disaster preparedness pillar; and develop the tool in online and mobile versions; (3) develop guidelines for pilot studies; assist the Bank team with pilot implementation of testing the toolkit and incorporate lessons-learned in the final deliverable of the tool & report. Specific pilot countries havent been decided at the moment but potential countries include Peru, Uzbekistan and Maldives.
eC2: Chennai City Partnership : Resilient Urban Mobility and Services in Chennai

Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu, has been witnessing natural disasters like floods, and the entire world is currently facing COVID-19 pandemic. These events have impacted life, including public transport systems and mobility in the city.
The Urban Mobility and Spatial Development pillar of the Chennai City Partnership (GoTN- World Bank) proposes to mainstream the climate/ flood and health risks with a focus on spatial planning, urban transport infrastructure and mobility services. In order to achieve the same, the World Bank wishes to engage a consulting firm to undertake hazard and vulnerability risk assessment, establish digital data/ maps, develop comprehensive action plan to mitigate/ manage flood and health risks for urban mobility and services; review/ strengthen standards for infrastructure elements to enhance their resilience; develop solutions to fund resilience and recovery plans; training and capacity building.
