eC2: Support to the identification and implementation of priority reforms in the agribusiness sector in Guinea

The Investment Climate (IC) in Agribusiness project is a pillar of the IFC-World Bank imagesAction Plan to promote the agribusiness sector in Guinea. The World Bank Group recently assessed the main constraints and opportunities for the development of the agribusiness sector in Guinea.
The IC in Agribusiness project aims to improve the business climate for agribusiness through the implementation of targeted reforms aimed at unlocking investments high potential value chains and improving investments retention and generation. To implement these reforms, a dialogue mechanism to mobilize government and business community’s commitment is needed.

The IFC seeks to hire the services of a Consultant to support the identification and implementation of priority reforms for the agribusiness sector in Guinea. The Consultant will help drive the reforms on the Guinea agribusiness sector and will work closely with the designated teams within to implement these reforms.

Doing Business Report: New Record Set as 314 Reforms Introduced to Improve Business Climate Around the World

WASHINGTON, October 31, 2018 – Governments around the world set a new record in Doing Business 2019bureaucracy busting efforts for the domestic private sector, implementing 314 business reforms over the past year, says the World Bank Group’s Doing Business 2019: Training for Reform report, released today.

The reforms, carried out in 128 economies, benefit small and medium enterprises as well as entrepreneurs, enabling job creation and stimulating private investment. This year’s reforms surpass the previous all-time high of 290 reforms two years ago.

Record Number of Economies Carried Out Business Reforms in Past Year: Doing Business

WASHINGTON, October 25, 2016db17-reportA record 137 economies around the world have adopted key reforms that make it easier to start and operate small and medium-sized businesses, says Doing Business 2017: Equal Opportunity for All, the World Bank Group’s annual report on the ease of doing business.

The new report finds that developing countries carried out more than 75 percent of the 283 reforms in the past year, with Sub-Saharan Africa accounting for over one-quarter of all reforms.
