The present Request for Expression of Interest (EOI) encompasses consulting services for the development of guidelines and toolkits for the economic appraisal of desalination and wastewater reuse initiatives using modern portfolio theory. The consultant shall develop detailed guidelines and actionable Excel-based toolkits for the determination of the most cost-efficient weight (in economic terms) of desalination and reuse in the water resources mix of urban utilities and basin authorities to achieve the appropriate level of reliability in the system.

eC2: Study of desalination challenges and opportunities

The objective of the study is to present a comprehensive overview of the desalination efforts carried out in Morocco and desalination plans included in the sector medium and long-term planning documents, and to identify challenges and potential solutions for bringing private-sector to support government efforts to scale-up desalination in the country.
