IFC is seeking a Consultant to provide and customize already digital supply chain solution to suit the specific production and context of at least one exporting honey enterprise operating in Ethiopia. We are looking for existing solutions that are at least in part off-the-shelf to encourage replication of the technology in other agri-business projects in Ethiopia. In addition to the customization of the digital tool, the Consultant is expected to train the enterprises local staff to use and deploy the digital tool, train enterprise staff on data analysis and business management using traceability information and transfer the day-to-day operational management of the tool to the Client participating in the AgTech project. The Consultant will work closely with the Client to design the digital tool.

IFC intends to contract a Consulting Firm (the Consultant) who will design decision support systems for maximizing productivity and resource optimization, and set up dashboards that allow users to make intelligent decisions guided by the advanced technologies. The proposed technology solution should gather specific data (including, possibly, satellite data) on various factors that influence fodder production and livestock rearing: information on input application, farm management, meteorology, soil moisture, disease detection/prediction, crop monitoring and yield forecast/estimation. For livestock, the technology should include features (such as electronic IDs and machine vision) that monitor animals unique characteristics like age, growth, health, reproduction and pedigree.

IFC is seeking to introduce IT based solutions that help its agribusiness clients to increase the number of farmers they reach cost-effectively with consistent extension messages. IFC intends to contract a Consulting Firm who will use communication technologies to deliver standard and localized extension messages to Smallholder Farmers (SHFs) and agents participating in the AgTech project. This approach primarily entails the use of digital tools to deliver extension trainings and to receive feedback from trainees, thereby improving service and the quality of information delivered to SHFs. The required digital solution would be the use of videos integrating other communication channels, such as radio, mobile applications, SMS, and interactive voice response for the delivery of localized and consistent extension messages to SHFs/ agents.
